TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF THE LATE MOST REPECTED LADY SISTER JANET EDITH MMIEH, PAST GRAND LADY, BY THE GRAND COURT OF THE NOBLE ORDER OF THE KNIGHTS AND LADIES OF MARSHALL.

We are gathered here today for a momentous event. The event relates of the passing away of a distinguished daughter of the Catholic Church and the Marshallan Fraternity, Most Respected Lady Sister Janet Edith Mmieh. Most Respected Lady was called to glory on the 24th Nov. 2018 after a dedicated, sustained and meritorious service to God and Mankind. We mourn her, for with her passing we have lost a leader, a mentor, a sister and a dear friend who was agile in mind, generous to fault, compassionate, loving and stalwart supported the church, family, society and community.

On this sad occasion, no other scripture passage is appropriate than 2nd Timothy 4:7-8 in the Good News Bible “I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, and I have kept the faith” And now there is waiting for me the victory price of being put right with God, which the Lord the righteous judge will give me on that day and not only me but to all those who wait with love for Him to appear” MRL. Sis. Janet Edith Mmieh was initiated into the Noble Order of the Ladies of Marshall Court 1 in 1971.

She worked diligently in Court 1 and was elected Deputy Noble Lady in the year 1984 and installed in 1985. After her term of office as Noble Lady of Court 1, she was elected Regional Secretary for the then Ashanti/Denkyira Regional Court, by dint of hard work, she was elected Deputy Regional Noble Lady in 1992 and installed Regional Noble Lady in 1994.

In 1996 MRL. Sis. Janet Edith Mmieh was appointed Assistant Grand Secretary at the Grand Court Meeting held at the Christian Village in Kumasi. She was installed the Grand Secretary in September 1998. MRL. Sis. Janet was elected Deputy Grand Lady in September 2009 and installed Grand Lady in September 2011.

As Deputy Grand Lady, she travelled far and near with the Grand Lady MRL Sis. Mary Agegee and others to consecrate two courts in Liberia, Matadi Estate and Voinjama Courts 1998, 1999 and May 2010. In September 2010, Santasi-Kumasi, July 2011, a Court in Kwahu Tafo in the Eastern Region and one at Tamale Holy Cross Parish.

As Grand Lady she consecrated the following Courts with her team, Pokuase in 2012, Kete-Krachi in the Volta Region in 2013 and New Aplaku in Greater Accra.

As Grand Lady, MRL Sis. Janet conceived a laudable idea which was easily accepted by all the Past Grand Ladies. The idea was to purchase a land for the construction of the Grand Secretariat. Sister went up and down looking for a land with RL Sis Irene Smith and eventually got two acres of land at Parkoso. The Grand Court will forever be grateful to you for the purchase of the land during your tenure of office. We thank God you lived to see the construction of the Secretariat by your successor MRL. Sister Margaret Yirenkyi. We assure you Most Respected Lady Sister that the rest of all the planned projects will come to fruition and your name will never be left out.

Once again, the Grand Court is very grateful to you and you will always be in our hearts.

Sisters will always remember you for your jokes and your matching during installation at the Grand Court. We miss you dearly sweet sister.

May Christ who called you, take you home, Angels lead you to Abraham, O’Holy ones present her now to God Most High.

Fare thee well Most Respected Lady, Rest in Perfect Peace till we meet again. Amen.
