TRIBUTE BY THE MOST RESPECTED LADY SISTER MARGARET GAISIE ESSILFIE PAST GRAND LADY IN MEMORY OF MOST RESPECTED LADY SISTER JANET EDITH MMIEH P.G.L.
“When the day of toil is done
When the race of life is run
Father, grant your wearied are
Rest for ever more.”
Catholic Hymnal No. 363
Is it real or it is a dream? I could not believe my ears when the news of the passing away of Most Respected Lady sister Janet Edith Mmieh was broken to me around 5:30pm on Saturday 24th Nov, 2018. My response was “how?”, because we were at the secretariat on Monday 19th Nov, 2018 we started chatting as we were moving out from the office.
MRL. Sister Janet Edith Mmieh, myself, the grand secretary RL. Sister Felicity Tattrah and the assistant Grand Secretary RL. Sister Mercy Ampofo, whenever Sister Janet wanted to talk at court meeting or Regional advisory board she would command everybody to keep quiet and listen to her.
Therefore as soon as we started talking as usual she said and I quote “everybody keep quiet and listen to me” I responded that we won’t listen to you because what each of us was saying was important and we all burst into laughter. Little did we know that it was going to be our last time in contact with her.
Your death has confirmed to me personally the saying “no one knows tomorrow.”
I am now in a state of confusion more especially when I go to Mass on Sundays and attend Court Meetings. We sat by each other all the time. Your place is now empty and there is no one to sit by me.
I miss you my sister and will continue to miss you whenever I go for blood text. There will be nobody to share the results with after showing it to the doctor.
I am sure your good deeds will follow you to your maker.
As I bid you farewell to eternity, I pray that our mother Mary and the Angels will meet you and lead you to our heavenly father.
Fare thee well my sweet sister and friend.
