HO MARSHALLANS DONATE TO THE HO REGIONAL PRISON

The Knights and Ladies of Marshall, Ho Council 20 and Court 10 presented a variety of items including 40 cartons of soap 6 bags of used clothing’s and three cartons of tooth paste to the Ho Regional prison.

The items which cost GH¢2, 500.00 were received by Supt. Ernest Amenyedzi on behalf of the Regional Commander.

He expressed appreciation with the kind gesture from the Ho Marshallans and noted that the Ho Prison was really over whelmed by the quantity and quality of the items donated by the Marshallans who had shown love and real sympathy with the inmates of the prison.

He called on the members of the general public to follow the example of the Marshallans and come to the aid of the prison and the inmates.

The Grand Knight of Council 20, Bro. Edem Kpotosu and the Noble Lady of court 10, Sis Mabel Ama Nyarko told the prisoners not to see themselves as prisoners but people who were confined temporarily to reflect on their lives and change for the better.

They explained to the prisoners that the donation made to them was in compliance with the tenant of work of the Marshallan Order of charity and for Lenten period they considered it as an obligation for a true Marshallan to do Almsgiving as one of the core pillars of lent. They encouraged the prisoners to do away with distress and rely on God who has the answer to their problems.

The Ho prison has 474 inmates including convict and those awaiting trial. The female prison has 12 inmates at the time of visit.
