The Supreme Knight, Sir Kt. Bro. Joseph Ekow Paintsil has laid a slab to formally mark the commencement of work on the new GHc12.5 million Marshallan Conference and Business Complex at Sekondi.
The 1,000 capacity complex will among others, provide facilities and opportunities for major local and international conferences, offices and hostel accommodation.
Assisting him to lay the slab were Sir Kt. Vet. Bro. Cdr Dr. Edmund Samuel Kwekukye Kwaw, the Supreme Director, PSK, Sir Kt. Bro. James Adomako and Most Respected Lady Sister Theresa Quaicoe who represented the Grand Court.
In his remarks, Sir Kt. Bro Paintsil thanked councils and courts as well as individuals who had in diverse ways made significant contributions towards the take-off of the project.
According to him, the successful completion of the project would be a major plus for the Noble Order.
The epoch-making event, was chaired by Sir Kt. Bro. Cdr. Dr Kwaw who urged all Marshallans to make the project a reality.
The Chairman of the Building Committee, Bro.Hubert Osei-Wusuansa called on Marshallans to make it their “personal commitment to continue to support financially or help identify other sources of funding for the completion of the project on schedule.”
The event was witnessed by over 250 brothers and sisters who had earlier attended a Thanksgiving Mass to mark this year”s Sir James Marshall Day at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church at Adiembra, Sekondi.
In a homily, Rev. Fr. Alexander Ebow Saim, Parish Priest of the Church praised Marshallans for their continuous support of the Church and urged them to hold on to their faith as true loyal sons and daughters of the Holy Mother the Catholic Church.
