Let us support Most Rev Osei-Bonsu: Supreme Knight rallies Marshallans

THE Supreme Knight, Sir Kt. Bro. Ambrose Yennah, has appealed to members of the Marshallan fraternity to support the Bishop of Konongo-Mampong, Most Rev Joseph Osei-Bonsu to construct a retirement home for Bishops in the Diocese.

Making the appeal at the just-ended 2018 Grand Knights and Noble Ladies Forum in Kumasi, Sir Kt. Bro. Yennah, noted with pride the invaluable contributions of Most Rev Osei-Bonsu to the Noble Order and the Church as a whole.

Most Rev Osei-Bonsu is the Supreme Spiritual Director of the Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall.

On February 10, 2018, a high-powered delegation of the Supreme Council and Grand Court joined families and friends of Most Rev Osei-Bonsu at the St Paul Cathedral in Mampong for his 70th anniversary thanksgiving Mass.1 (9)

The Mass was concelebrated by eight other bishops including the Archbishop Emeritus of Kumasi, Most Rev Peter Kwasi Sarpong, who ordained him as priest in 1975.

The thanksgiving Mass was also used to raise funds in aid of the construction of a home for retired bishops in the diocese.

The Supreme Council delegation was led Sir Knight Bro Samuel Barnes and Sir Knight Bro Anthony Kemevor while that of the Grand Court was led Most Respected Lady Dame Theresa Pobee and Most Respected Lady Sis Janet Mmieh.

Sir Knight Bro Samuel Barnes and MRL Dame Pobee, on behalf of the Noble Order, made a pledge of GHC50, 000.00 towards the project.

Most Rev Joseph Osei-Bonsu was born February 8, 1948 at Jamasi in the Ashanti Region.

He is the eldest of the 10 children of the parents.

He was ordained priest on August 3, 1975 in Kumasi by Most Rev Peter Kwasi Sarpong and installed the first Bishop of Konongo-Mampong on June 15, 1995.
