Supreme Council takes delivery of gadgets

THE Supreme Council has taken delivery of equipment to boost its online and live streaming services.

The items include two Canon XA11 Camcorders, two professional tripods, two capture devices, dual channel lapel microphone, and other accessories.

The Supreme IT Officer, Sir Kt Bro Albert Salia, who handed the items to the Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro Charles Cobb, expressed appreciation for the bold decision to purchase the items.

The acquisition of the items, he said, will boost the live streaming of Marshallan programmes especially its webinar series and online training.

He said it will reduce the incidents of Communications Officers of the Noble Order criss-crossing event grounds during major events, especially during Mass, thereby distracting congregants and priests alike.

Sir Kt Bro Salia indicated that a training programme will be put in place for the core team to effectively utilize the equipment.

He described the acquisition of the equipment as a dream come true, stressing that, “for a long time we have been pushing for this and I am happy to say that under your reign, it has become a reality.”

Response

The Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro Charles Cobb said the equipment was coming at an important time of the annals of the Noble Order.

He said in the first year of his administration, COVID-19 hit the world, compelling his administration to adopt innovative ways to organise virtual events.

“God being so good and for the first time in our history, we held our Grand Knights and Noble Ladies forum with everyone at home. These tools will further help us to further this course,” he said.

With technology, he said, the Noble Order shall overcome some of the challenges and cited the recently organised Marshallan Educational Webiner Series (MEWS) through which the Noble Order had an insightful lecture on Fratelli Tutti in a two-day setting for all Marshallans worldwide at a go.

He prayed that the collaboration between the IT team and leadership shall continue, to overcome the challenges imposed on the Noble Order by COVID-19 so that “we shall continue to enjoy our activities in the new normal world we find ourselves in today.”

He commended the Supreme IT Officer for pushing for all the changes to make the Noble Order relevant in the modern world.

Present at the ceremony were the Assistant Supreme IT Officer, Worthy Bro Gilbert Nii Addy, an Assistant Supreme Secretary, Worthy Bro Maurice Adu-Amankwah, the West Accra Regional Grand Knight and Assistant Supreme Physician, Worthy Bro Dr Henry Awuviri and Worthy Bro Mark Quarcoo, the administrator of the Marshallan Secretariat at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka.
