Sakumono twins with Breman Asikuma

THE Supreme Knight’s idea for endowed councils and courts to support less endowed ones was given meaning last December when Council 89 and Court 85, Sakumono established a twin relationship with their counterparts from Breman-Asikuma Council No. 110 and Court No. 106.

As part of the relationship, 16 brothers and 17 sisters from Council No. 110 and Court No. 106 paid a three-day familiarisation visit to their brothers and sisters in Sakumono.

The brothers were led by their Grand Knight , Bro. Rev. Fr. Daniel Neyon while the sisters were led their Noble Lady, Sis. Asare Adjei.

They were at Sakumono to witness the installation of the 2015 new administration of Council 89 and Court 85.

The Supreme Knight, Sir Kt. Bro. Joseph Ekow Paintsil, who was in attendance at the Installation banquet, commended Council No 89/Court No. 85 (Sakumono) for twinning with Council No. 110 and Court No. 106 (Breman Asikuma).

He urged the leadership of the Marshallans at Sakumono and Breman Asikuma to ensure that the relationship was deepened to be a showpiece to other councils and courts.

Sir Kt Paintsil urged more endowed Councils and courts in Accra and Kumasi to take up the concept of twinning with less endowed ones.

Sir Kt. Bro. Frank Essiaw on behalf of Council and court and his own behalf presented a hamper each to the Grand Knight and Noble Lady.

To thank God for a successful Installation and Banquet, brothers and sisters from Council No. 110 and Court No. 106 (Breman Asikuma) joined their counterparts from Council No. 89 and Court No 85 (Sakumono) at a Thanksgiving Mass held at the Corpus Christ Catholic Church at Sakumono. Con-celebrating the Mass were Rev. Fr. Philip Bempong, Assistant Parish Priest of CCCC, and Bro. Rev. Fr. Daniel Neyon, GK of Council No. 110.

Delivering the homily, Bro. Rev. Fr. Daniel Neyon advised all leaders to model their life on that of John the Baptist and Our Lord Jesus Christ.  He stressed that though John the Baptist was a great prophet, when it dawned on him that the Lord Jesus Christ was  the son of God, he did not hesitate to  ask the people to follow him. He cautioned that too often those in leadership position want to be the centre of attention and some go to the extent of eliminating or suppressing any other person who exhibit leadership qualities. Bro. Rev. Fr. Daniel Neyon advised the Grand Knight , Noble Lady and other leaders of societies in the church to always endeavour to lead in humility.

In a pre-departure interview, the Noble Lady of Court No. 106, Sis. Asare Adjei, lauded the twinning relationship.

She pointed to the many things they had learnt in attending the installation ceremony at Court No. 85.

She pointed to the house system in place at Court No. 85 and gave the assurance that she would replicate same at her court.

Sis. Veronica Mensah, Secretary of Court No. 106, pointed to the dedication and commitment of brothers and sisters of the Noble Order at Sakumono and said it would positively influence brothers and sisters of Council No. 110 and Court No. 106.
