The Marshallan Relief and Development Services (MAREDES), has donated a water storage tank and 100 plastic chairs.
The 10,000 litres tank is expected to reduce the perennial water shortage situation faced by the over 3,500 inmates while the plastic chairs are to support church activities in the prison
Council 108 and Court 103, Pokuase of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall sponsored the GHC7,000 worth of items to the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons.
A representative of MAREDES, Lady Sis Elizabeth Anderson-Yebuah, who made the donation, said it was in line with MAREDES core values of providing relief and support to the needy and distressed in society.
Receiving the items, the Chaplain of the Prison, Rev Father Supt. Martin Padi, thanked MAREDES and said the donation would go a long way to support the reformation of the inmates.
He called on other organisations to also support the prison to improve its operations.
The Grand Knight of Council 108, Pokuase, Bro.William .B.S.Dakpiri on behalf of the Noble Lady of Court103, Sis. Jane Frances Nyuzal thanked the Regional Grand Knight, Regional Noble Lady and their team and brothers and sisters of Pokuase for helping MAREDES identify the institution and for their sacrifices in financing the donation to meet one of their Christian obligations.
