The Adenta council/court has donated items worth Gh¢5,000 to the less privilege drawn from the parish.
The items included 35 half pieces of clothes, 25 new shirts and slightly used clothes, this forms the council and court’s charity activities for the 2015.
The beneficiaries were carefully selected from St John the Evangelist Catholic Church Adenta and its outstations, through the help of societal leaders who helped to identify these parishioners who are actually in need.
The Grand Knight Bro. Tom Mamuwsi welcomed beneficiaries to the programme and urged them to continue to draw closer to God and remember that He is the only one that must be revered and worshiped.
According to the Noble Lady Sister Benedicta Carr, the initiative came at backdrop of charity “Charity begins at home’ where as catholic friendly society Marshallans need to identify parishners who are actually in need in their communities and help them before looking outside.
She said, the beneficiaries were selected with the scripture in the mind thus: Matt 25: 34-40 where God demand of us his children to show pity compassion and kindness to those in difficulty and also practice the merciful attitude that He expects each of his children to exhibit at all times.
The NL noted that God has once again reminded us in Micah 6: 8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly , to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Op. Georgina Addo Tawiah from St Theresa of the Child Jesus Society, advised the beneficiaries that they were not alone but had people who loved them as God does she prayed that all other societies in the church emulate this example to win more souls for Christ.
