The Catholic Bishop Wa, Most Rev. Richard K. Baawobr, has urged Marshallans to commit themselves to the course of the new evangelization.
That, he said, required that Marshallans Know the Faith , Live the Faith and Share the Faith (KLS – Know, Live and Share).
The acronym, he said, must always be on the lips of Marshallans.
He was delivering the keynote address at the 28th Regional Conference of the North West Region of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall held at Kaleo in the Nadowli/ Kaleo District in the Upper West Region.
It was on the theme “The Marshallan and the New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Faith.”
The conference attracted a total of 353 brothers and sisters from the ten component councils and courts in the region.
The Supreme Council was represented by Sir Kt. Bro. Samuel Kweku Barnes and the Deputy Supreme Knight W/Bro. Ambrose Yennah while the Grand Court was represented by MRL. Sis. Cecilia Andoh and RL. Sis. Monica Barimah Koranteng.
During the plenary session, representatives from the Knights of St. John International and Ladies Auxiliary who after reading a solidarity message donated GHC 200 as their support towards the success of the conference.
In a message read on his behalf by Sir Kt. Bro. Barnes, the Supreme Knight, Sir Kt. Bro. Ernest Amoako-Arhen, underscored the importance of the Junior order and encouraged all councils and courts to ensure the proper and effective coordination of the Junior Marshallans .
He charged all Regional Grand Knights and Regional Noble Ladies to personally work out strategies for the smooth transition of eligible Junior Marshallans into adult councils and courts.
The Supreme Knight repeated his call to Councils and Courts which did not as yet have the Junior Order to endeavour to consecrate one before the climax of the 90th Anniversary celebrations in October 2016.
A message from the Grand Lady MRL Sis Alice Stella Ayebi which was read by MRL Sis. Cecilia Andoh asked Marshallans to desist from being advocates of and accomplishes of violence, pull him/ her down syndromes and passing derogatory comments that undermine the integrity of their fellow brothers and sisters.
The Grand Lady in her message further asked Marshallans to avoid gossiping, false accusations, vindictiveness, revengefulness that go to intimidate and dehumanize their colleagues.
She advised them to abstain from excessive alcoholism because the practice negatively affects spiritual development and physically reduces sense of judgement.
At the respective Regional Council and Court meetings, W/B Bro Valentine Domapiele was installed as the Regional Grand Knight with the election of Bro. James Sohemwiniyeh, as Deputy Regional Grand Knight while RL Sis. Perpetua N. Seidu was installed as the Regional Noble Lady and Sis. Leticia Bazaawale, as the Deputy Regional Noble Lady.
A thanksgiving mass was held to round off the regional conference.
At the end of the mass the North West Region of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall made a donation of One Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 1,000) to the Kaleo Parish to support its development.
Before their departure, the Knights and Ladies went on a route march through the principal streets of Kaleo.
