CHRISTIANS have been called upon not to let the socio-economic challenges place them in a state of despondency.
Rev Fr Lazarus Anondee, who made the call, said Christians must be mindful of the admonition of St Paul that in all things believers must be thankful.
He said this in a homily at a thanksgiving mass by the newly installed Grand Knight of Council 48, Bro Edward Taylor and the Noble Lady of Court 40, Sister Matilda Quist at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Mataheko on December 14, 2014.
Rev Fr Anondee said the difficulties confronting the nation had made many Ghanaians to described the forthcoming Christmas as a dry Christmas with others saying that they did not feel the presence of Christmas in the air.
But, he said, Christians must be joyful and not gloomy in those circumstances as Christians should be the symbol of hope for the entire population.
He said Ghanaians including the political elite needed to reexamine what might have gone wrong and try to make amends and the Israelites did in the past.
Rev Fr Anondee said the current difficulties had come about because of the actions and inactions hence make amends for a better future.
He urged Christians not to be stampeded by the difficulties in life but look up to Jesus Christ, who brings hope, joy and happiness to overcome the difficulties of life.
