The Grand Knight of Council 71, Bro Francis Bernard Kwegyir-Afful, has called on members of the Marshallan fraternity to exhibit nobility in all they do.
“No Knight can be Noble if he is not a good Husband and father, who is not honest in his dealings with other men and women, faithful to his friends and fellow Knight Brothers and fearless in the presence of his enemies,” he said.
In his inaugural speech after he was installed as Grand Knight of Council 71, Dansoman, Bro Kwegyir-Afful, pledged to deepen the tenets of the Noble society namely unity, charity and fraternity.
He was installed by the Immediate Past Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Victor Derx Baffour with Sir Kt Peter Amonoo McCarthy and W/Bro Lawrence Bebli as installation secretary and guard respectively while Bro Rev Fr Mark Nana Asare was the installation chaplain.
“There is no better time than now to work towards the growth and development of this Noble society and its members. I am full of confidence that if we all do our duty and neglect nothing, with the best arrangements Council 71 will again prove to be the pacesetter and the council to belong to,” he said.
Junior Order
Bro Kwegyir-Afful said he had challenged the Committees in charge of the Juniors and also of Membership to come out a programme which would encourage the juniors who had passed the age to be initiated into the senior order.
In line with thant, he promised sponsor one junior each year for the next three years to be initiated into the Senior Order by bearing the cost of the suit, regalia and dues for a year.
“This I do in Honour of Sir Knight Victor Derx Baffour, My Installation officer who sponsored me for a year and transformed me from a Junior to a Senior Knight. And today he has installed me as the 14th Grand Knight of the Great Council 71,” he said to a wild applause.
