Worthy Bro. Dr. Boadi-Kusi heads Department of Optometry and Vision Science of the University of Cape Coast.

Worthy Bro. Dr. Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi has been appointed Head of Department of the Optometry and Vision Science, School of Allied Health Sciences under the College of Health and Allied Sciences of the University of Cape Coast.

The appointment is from 1st August, 2019 to 31st July, 2021.

Dr. Boadi-Kusi, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast holds a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Cape Cost and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Optometry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

He is currently the Vice President of Ghana Optometric Association, the National Secretary of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) as well as the UTAG Secretary for the University of Cape Coast Chapter.

Worthy Bro Boadi-Kusi has served as an external examiner for some universities both in and outside Ghana.

He has served on a number of Boards, Councils and Committees in the educational and health sectors including the Allied Health Professions Council, Ghana.

He has several publications in reputable journals in eye health to his credit.Boadi

He is passionate about the eye health of the less privileged and has therefore set up an NGO that partners other foreign NGOs to provide eye examinations to deprived communities in Ghana.

Dr. Boadi-Kusi is a member of Council 98, Santasi and he has served the Council, and Regional Council in several capacities including Secretary and Grand Knight, Regional Secretary of the Ashanti South Denkyira Regional Council, among other positions.

 

He is currently the Assistant Supreme Membership Coordinator for Ashanti/ Denkyira and a member of the Standing Committee of the Noble Order of the Knights of Marshall. He is also the Deputy Regional Grand Knight for Ashanti South Denkyira.

He is married to Sis. Mary Quainoo Boadi-Kusi and they have three beautiful children.
