THE official website of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall was last Thursday officially launched to help the clergy to quicken the pace of evangelism through the positive use of the world-wide-web and its ancillary tools of social media.
The website, www.marshallan.org, was redesigned to also facilitate effective communication among its members and also to provide a forum for sharing the success stories of members to serve as a mentorship facility especially for the young marshallans.
It attracted a number of marshallans and priests to the gathering as well as the State Grand Knight of Togo/Benin, W/Bro Theophile Akpakpo.
Other senior marshallans present included Sir Kt James Adomako, Sir Kt Tony Kemavor, Sir Kt Victor Derx Baffour; W/Bro Ernest Amoako-Arhen, Deputy Supreme Knight, Very Rev Fr Francis Adoboli, Vicar-General of the Accra Archdioce, Very Rev Fr Samuel Filton-Mensah, Holy Spirit Cathedral Administrator and Rev Fr Francis Destiny Amenuvor, of the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church, Mamprobi.
Website launched
Launching the website in Accra, the Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Ekow Paintsil, said the site would inform users about the background, structure and programmes of the noble order.
He said the website would also enhance evangelism and also provide leadership and guidance for users and also urged the congregation to practice their faith.
“Empowering the congregation means sharing the gospel with them and providing them with scriptural answers for doctrinal questions,” he said.
Sir Kt Paintsil advised that there should be ethics regarding what was published on the site since it was of prime importance.
Benefits of website
The Chairperson of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) committee, Worthy Brother Albert Salia, noted that the website would enable members get closer with each other and with God through the activities of the noble order.
He explained that the website would also provide an avenue for priests, religious leaders and professionals to share sermons, lectures and catechism through texts, audios and videos for the benefit of others.
The website, he said, would also provide daily readings, saint of the day and health issues as well as information on the Vatican.
Worthy Brother Salia commended members of the committee and other officials who laid the foundation for the initiative.
Vicar General
The Vicar General of the Accra Archdiocese, Very Rev. Fr Francis Adoboli, prayed that the website would be a channel for individuals to be educated to serve the country and the Catholic fraternity.
Initiative laudable
In his closing remarks, the Immediate Past Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Victor Derx Baffour, also reiterated that the site would be an evangelism channel and commended members of the committee for their hard work and dedication.
