Re-Dedicate Yourself to the Church and Community-Bro. Rev. Fr. Dr. Okyrerefo Urges Marshallans

The Associate Priest of St. Thomas Aquinas Chaplaincy and lecturer in Sociology at the University of Ghana, Legon, has called on Marshallans to rededicate themselves to the Church and Community so as to bring solace to many looking for help.

Bro. Rev. Fr. Dr. Michael  Perry Okyerefo made this appeal when he delivered the homily at a mass held at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madina-Accra, to mark the Feast Day of St. Anthony of Padua, who is the patron saint of the Knights of Marshall.

The Mass which was held in the evening of Saturday, June 13, 2015 was attended by Knights and Ladies of Marshall and members of St. Anthony Guild.

At exactly 6:30 p.m. brothers and sisters of Council No. 63 and Court No. 58 (Madina) formed up in front of the Chapel and marched into the Church.

Rev. Fr. Charles Owusu-Ansah (SMA), the parish priest, welcomed the Knights and Ldies of Marshall and members of St. Anthony Guild to the Mass pointing out that St. Anthony was one the most revered saints of the Church; He was  a Doctor of the Church.

The first reading was taken by the DGK of Council No. 63, Bro. William Kwaku  Ashaley, whilst the Gospel reading was taken by  Bro. Rev Fr. Dr. Michael Perry Okyerefo,  who is also a chaplain of Council No. 63.

Bro. Rev. Fr. Okyerekye in his homily commended the marshallans for their dedication and sacrifice to the Church. The Knights of Marshall, he stressed, remains one of the most formidable groups in the church and have chalked a notch for its charity works.

Rev. Fr. Okyerefo stressed that in celebrating the life of St. Anthony those who are followers of St. Anthony must rededicate themselves to a life service, a life of sacrifice and a life of holiness; three things for which St. Anthony was renowned.

Rev. Fr. Okyereko ended his homily by calling all to pray for restoration of the spirit of commitment and  dedication to the Gospel; virtues for which brothers and sisters were imbued on the day of confirmation and initiation into the Noble Order.

After the homily, the Grand Knight, Bro. Dr. John Manyimadin Kusimi, made a short presentation on the life and works of St. Anthony of Padua.

Later the Grand Knight with assistance from the Noble Lady, Sis. Dr. Happy-Mary Ablordey Afagbedee, made a presentation of ¢1000 to the Church to assist in its project works.

After Mass, council and court refreshed the 73 brothers and 35 sisters who attended the mass as well as members of St. Anthony Guild.
