Fellow Marshallans, a new year has begun and this is the time we draw up tall list of what we want to with our lives. Before I proceed any further let me wish everyone a very happy and fulfilling year as we embrace the economic challenges ahead.
As Christians and Marshallans we should see the new year is like a new sun rise of hope, of prosperity, of happiness. It’s like a new beginning of thoughts, of words, of actions. It’s like a new day of energy, of strength, of ideas; it’s like a bunch of whole new things of prayers, of friends and of love. We can only hope take advantage of these new things by trying to always understand other needs of others. Lets us ensure that the poor and needy are fed first.
For a happy new year, let me remind you to just stick to some simple and basic rules. Continue to have faith in yourself and your abilities that you can succeed in whatever you are engaged in. Count your blessings before you cry on your misfortunes. Learn to take each day one at a time. Create opportunities for yourself for quitting is never an option. Above all accomplish all you take under your wings – never abandon without completion.
Friends are not beautiful as they look, as they walk, as they talk. Friends are beautiful as they show sincerity, as they care and as they remember you as dear friend you always do. In the year 2015, may you be able to reach out to old friends as well as make loads of new friends to fill up your days with happiness, laughter and cheer. Discover new joys, embark on new journeys and give more meaning to your life.
There are some important lessons to be learnt from the past so whether you win or lose, it is the learning of the lesson that matters at the end of each year. Embrace the New Year with not just a new look but also with a new and positive approach to make things simple in the year ahead. Always remember that genuine success comes only to those who are ready for it, so never step back and have courage to accept new challenges in this New Year. Never regret the follies of the past as you reminisce about the year gone by. As you welcome the brand new year you should instead learn from those follies and treat them like another feather to your cab of experience. Consider the year 2015 to be like a blank book that is waiting your intervention to fill up its 365 pages with all the colours under the sun making it a vibrant addition to your life. Give a moment of thought to the achievements as well as the failures of 2014 so that you know what the right path for you would be.
Fellow Marshallans, in 2015 you should resolve to take a better care of your health needs that you did in the past year. You should pay regular visit to your doctor or health care professionals to check on life-style diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, etc. May the New Year see you in the best of health and cheer for as old saying goes health is the best wealth that a person can have.
This year should see you more than double your effort as a Marshallan who is living his/her Marshallan faith. Make time to attend meetings when the time comes. Remember that punctuality is the soul of business so you will attend meetings on time. And while at the meeting you must resolve to be fully engaged by making positive contributions to any topic under discussion. Resolve also to pay your dues more regularly so that our association can embark on projects it has set itself to do in this year. I urge as a true Marshallan to go out of your way to make special contributions to support our developmental efforts. Always remember that it is more blessing to give than to receive.
Fellow Marshallans let us enter this year making an effort to bring at least one person to join in our assemblies. We need to embark on membership drive so that we can have ‘new blood’ injected into our fraternity who can take over from us.
In 2015, my dear brothers and sisters, we should learn to forgive one another during the past year. It is the same way we can receive the same blessings from the Almighty. It’s time to unfold new pages and start a new chapter in your life because it is the New Year.
Now here are some wishes for you in the New Year;
May the year 2015 give you the opportunity to realize your dreams, rediscover your strengths, muster your willpower and rejoice the simple pleasures that life will bring your way.
You are a dreamer and you are an achiever. May you dream and achieve bigger feats, with every passing year. May this New Year all your dreams turn into reality and all your efforts into great achievements.
May the New Year give you the strength to face the challenges of life and courage to adjust the sail so as to make every situation to your stride.
May the New Year gives you fresh 365 days to play with – fill them up with whatever your heart desires so that you have no regrets at the end of the annual cycle.
Fresh hopes, fresh plans, fresh efforts, fresh feelings, fresh commitment. Let us ride through a fresh attitude.
“New Year is not about changing the Dates but Direction;
It’s not about changing the Calendar but commitment;
It’s about changing Actions but Attitude;
It’s not about changing Fruit but Faith, Force and Focus;
May you commit and create the best New Year ever.”
May the year 2015 greet you with days as fragrant as roses, as colourful as rainbow, as bright as sunshine and as happy and cheerful as a lark.
Long live marshallans
