CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM SUPREME KNIGHT AND GRAND LADY – 2022

The period preceding Christmas and the days thereafter are moments for deep reflection as members of the Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall.

Indeed, as put by the book of Titus, “The Grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men, training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright and godly lives in this world, awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave himself to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.” (Titus 2:11-14)

The thought of Christmas must therefore bring us the good news of great joy: “To us is born this day a Saviour, Christ the Lord and the government shall be upon his shoulders and His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa 9:6).

From all indications, the presence of the infant birth on earth as commemorated each year, brings joy to all because of the great peace that followed the announcement of his birth which meant good news to the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, deliverance to the captives, sight to the blind, liberty to the prisoners. In fact, a year of favor to all!

As Marshallans, we need to do our own reflections as we also mark the season of Christmas.

We must ask, “are we giving those we encounter in our daily lives wonderful counsel? Are we giving the people around us reasons to believe, trust and rely on the protective and fatherly care of God? Do we make ourselves channels for peace? Do we strive to live godly, sober and upright lives?”

If the people we encounter daily do not experience some form of joy after encountering us, then our celebration will not measure up to the standard required of us as Christians and as Marshallans.

The tenets and principles of the Noble Order enjoin us to be of service to all manner of persons, to be charitable whenever called upon to do so, giving generously out of our little or abundance.

As we celebrate this Christmas, may the Good Lord grant us the grace to really celebrate him with joy by bringing joy to others.

We wish all Marshallan Brothers and Sisters and their families a very Joyful Christmas Season.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Sir Kt. Bro. Patrick Kobina Anumel                         MRL Sis. Elizabeth Anderson-Yebuah
