London Region Bids Farewell to Departed Brother GODFRIED QUARTEY, HPGK, Co 68

Brothers and sisters in London have bidden farewell to Bro. Godfried Quartey, who has joined the Noble Order above.

Bro Quartey, who was initiated into Council 68, Forest Gate, London, on 8th Septembe r2000, elevated to the post of Honorary Past Grand Knight in May, 2013. He left behind a wife Rosalind and two grown up children.

After a solemn Bedside ritual on the morning of Friday the 24th, a resounding Requiem Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Fr James Kennedy, Parish Priest of St Joseph’s Church in Leyton, with the help of Rev Deacon Baffour Awuah, Assistant Regional Chaplain of the Fraternity in London.

The Deacon also led members in a moving burial ritual; after which Marshallans treated the bereaved family to refreshments and an impressive display of support and solidarity.
The Marshallan band played nonstop for several hours, encouraging the family as well as members to shake off the mantle of mourning, and celebrate  the passage of our brother to the side of the Lord.
Led by the Regional Grand Knight W-Bro Dr. James Amuah, and Regional Noble Lady, RL, Sister Veronica Serwah-Dwomoh Addo, resplendent In their Brown Uniform Cloth, The Marshallans celebrated the life of the departed brother.
A large number of Marshallans again joined the family in a Thanks giving Mass at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Leyton.
Brother Godfried himself will have been proud of the Marshallan Spirit, love and solidarity shown by the members of the London Region.
