SAVLE REGINA gives thanks

MEMBERS of the newly consecrated Junior Council and Court, 88J, Salve Regina, New Aplaku on Sunday, August 7, 2016 joined parishioners of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church to give thanks for a successful consecration.

The junior Marshallans were supported by their senior brothers and sisters of Council 109 and Court 105, New Aplaku and some junior brothers and sisters of 43J, Our Lady of Lourdes, Dansoman.

The mass was preceded by a colourful parade of both Junior and Senior Marshallans.

The thanksgiving mass which coincided with the Youth Harvest of the parish and officiated by Very Rev. Fr. Vincent Owusu, Priest – in – Charge and Rev. Fr. Peter Kabutey, Assistant Priest, was on the theme,  “Faith in God gives hope for a destiny to come“.  

Homily

Very Rev. Fr. Owusu in his homily, encouraged Christians to have interest in the kingdom of God even as they sought after material things.

He said the Lord expected Christians to protect the things He had given them in order to be faithful stewards.

Very Rev. Owusu reminded Christians that they were special in the eyes of God and therefore, must assert.

He also entreated all to be people of faith and offer their lives as sacrifices to God.

New officers

The newly installed office bearers of the first administration of 88 J were prayed for by Rev. Fr. Vincent Owusu.

The Junior Grand Knight, Junior Brother Martin Ackon and his counterpart Junior Noble Lady , Junior Sister Lorna Ayivor made a presentation to the SS Peter and Paul parish.

Jnr Bro Ackom also used the opportunity to thank all parents for their support and for availing their wards to be part of the junior order.

The junior Marshallans melodiusly sang the anthem ” Salve Regina”.

Foundation members

88 J – Salve Regina , New Aplaku in the Accra West Region was consecrated by Worthy Brother Commander Mark Yawson, Supreme Youth Coordinator on  6th August , 2016 at New Aplaku .

 It has a   foundation membership of 63 junior brothers and sisters drawn from 43 J which according to the Deputy Grand Lady, Respected Lady Sis Budu-Smith  “has the highest number of foundation membership so far in the year”. It is also the first junior order to be consecrated in the Accra – West Region since the installation of the fourth administration.
