Enroll onto MaSIF – Supreme Knight urges Marshallans

THE Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro Ernest Amoako-Arhen has asked Marshallans to enroll onto the Marshallan Savings and Investment Fund (MaSIF) to help end suspensions of Brothers and Sisters in Councils and Courts.

“We can achieve our unity and fraternity objectives by not suspending ourselves due to non-payment of dues and other financial commitments,” he said.

He was addressing participants at a day’s seminar for Co-ordinators of MaSIF in the Greater Accra Region on May 25, 2017, at the Holy Spirit Cathedral.

Forty three Coordinators from Councils and Courts in the Accra West, East and Tema regions attended the seminar which was intended to sharpen their knowledge of the Fund.

The participants were educated on the benefits of the scheme by Worthy Brother Dr. Komla Deku, an advisor to MaSIF.

End suspensions

Sir Kt Bro Amoako-Arhen said the Noble Order wants to put an end to suspensions hence the restructuring of the Marshallan Investment Fund (MIF) into the MaSIF.

He explained that the success of MaSIF would also help put an end to the Noble Order levying Brothers and Sisters all the time.

“We cannot be taxing you every year,” he said, adding that the time had come for the Noble Order to move into revenue generating projects to position the society to take its rightful place in the Church and the country.

He said the Knights of Columbus had assumed a pivotal role in the Catholic Church because of the financial muzzle in support the Church and their members.

Capable hands

Sir Kt Bro Amoako-Arhen said the Supreme Council and the Grand Court had put in place a capable team of financial gurus, astute bankers, fund managers to handle the MaSIF.

The members of the Board of Trustees are W/Bro Patrick Anumel, chairman, W/Bro Edward Musey, W/Bro Dr Komla Deku, Bro L. C. T. Zaukuu, Bro Bright Ajavon and Bro Ben Ackah-Mensah, representing the Supreme Council while Most Respected Lady Sis Felicity Acquah, RL Sis Adelaide Benneh, Sis Theresa Adanvor and Sis Ophelia Opoku-Ansah are the representatives of the Grand Court.

Sir Kt Bro Amoako-Arhen urged the co-ordinators to be good ambassadors of the MaSIF and be willing to share the knowledge with their Council and Court members

The participants were educated on the benefits of the scheme by Worthy Brother Dr. Komla Deku, an advisor to MaSIF.

The Chairman of the Fund, Worthy Brother Patrick Anumel urged the Coordinators to be good Ambassadors of the Fund.

At the end of the seminar, the Coordinators for Court 59 Teshie Nungua, Sisters Ruth Sefakor Worgba and Florence Agbekey, said there’s a lot to be gained from the membership of the Fund, provided the member is committed in the payment of the contributions.

They promised to market the Fund aggressively in their Court to enable the Sisters to derive the maximum benefit from the Fund.
