Devote more time for scripture sharing – Fr Atta-Mensah urges Marshallans

A FORMATOR at the St. Teresa’s Seminary, Rev. Fr. Bro Isaac Atta-Mensah, has called for the allotment of more time during Council and Court meetings for bible sharing and development of spirituality of members.

“To us in the Noble Order, the development of our spirituality is not negotiable, it is an obligation every Marshallan must work toward if we are to be battle ready for the new evangelisation process,” he said.

Rev Fr Atta-Mensah gave the advice when he led members of Council 11 & Court , Elmina together with the Junior Order, Ark of the Covenant 24J at a day’s retreat at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Amisano on Saturday 4th October, 2015.

The retreat formed part of the 90th anniversary celebrations of the Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall on the theme, “The Marshallan and the new evangelization for the transmission of the faith”..

According to him, it was important that Marshallans got to know the faith, live the faith and share the faith.

“To us in the Noble Order, the development of our spirituality is not negotiable, it is an obligation every marshallan must work towards if we are to be battle ready for the new evangelisation process, ” he added.

RevFr  Atta-Mensah, therefore advocated for the allotment of sufficient time during Council & Court meetings and various venues for such spiritual event to the reading of the scriptures, also marshallans who propose candidates for initiation to serve as spiritual shepherds for them.

“Being a Knight goes beyond showing of our suits, wealth and lavishing our resources where it is not needed and begin to use our various gifts and talents in bringing the love of Christ to those in desperate need,” he said.

In concluding his recollection, Rev Fr Atta-Mensah outlined the Marshallan acronym as someone who should be:

M-Meek

A-Active

R-Resilient

S-Sacrifice

H-Hardworking

A-Affable

L-Learning

L-Lauds

A-Action

N-Noble
