1. OBJECTIVES OF MMF
The Objective of the Marshallan Medical Fund (MMF) is to support critically ill members of the Noble Order who require emergency surgery or other medical intervention, which is outside the scope of the National Health Insurance Scheme in order to survive.
The MMF is true Marshallan charity at work because the annual levy each member pays is used to support a needed brother or sister.
2. BACKGROUND
The MMF was officially launched by the Supreme Knight, Sir Knight Brother Ekow Paintsil and Grand Lady, Most Respected Lady Sister Margaret Yirenkyi on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Christian Village in Kumasi during the 2014 Grand Knights’ and Noble Ladies’ Forum. The Board of Trustees dedicated the entire 2014 for fund raising. Actual operation of the MMF with payment of benefits commenced January 2015.
3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR YEAR 2017
The MMF is open to all members of the Noble Order in Ghanas who have paid in full their MMF levy of GHS5.00 per annum for the years 2015, 2016 and 2017.
4. MAXIMUM MMF BENEFIT
The Board of Trustees of the MMF at its 12th meeting of January __ 2017, revised upward the maximum MMF benefit payable to an applicant by 33.3% to GHS2,000.00.
The MMF benefit has therefore grown from GHS1,000.00 in 2015 to GHS1,500.00 in 2016 and now to the current GHS2,000.00 for 2017.
5. PAYMENT BY COUNCILS AND COURTS TO MMF
All Councils and Courts are required to make full payment of MMF levy of GHS5.00/member for the fiscal years 2015, 2017 and 2017. Preferably, bulk payments must be made by Councils and Courts in the first quarter of the year into the MMF Bank Account provided below:

Evidence comprising (i) cover letter, (ii) scanned copy of bank pay-in slip and (iii) list of paid up members to may be sent by email to mmf@marshallan.org or by post to P. O. Box CT4612, Cantonments, Accra.
Note: the “Paid in by” field on the Bank Pay-in Slip must read “Council ___” or “Court ___” and not the name of the brother or sister making payment on behalf of Council or Court.
6. HISTORY OF BENEFIT PAYMENTS MADE BY MMF
In each of the operating years 2015 and 2016 the MMF had made payments to qualified applicants as follows:

8. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
A brother or sister who desires to apply for MMF assistance would have to submit a completed application form, endorsed by the Advisory Board of Council or Court. The application form can be downloaded from the Marshallan website, marshallan.org. The completed form should be emailed to mmf@marshallan.org for processing.
