W/Bro Musey & RL Sis Amegashiti leads Tema

THE Assistant Parish Priest of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Tema Community Seven,  Reverend Father Dennis Opoku, has urged Marshallans and Catholic faithful to be committed in the service of God and participate in sharing the gospel of God to others.

He said it was incumbent upon Marshallans in particular and Catholics in general to be soldiers of Christ and work together in unity for the advancement of the gospel and the course of the Nobel Order of the Knights and  Ladies of Marshall.

Rev. Father Opoku, who is also the Chaplain of the Tema Regional Council and Court of  the Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, made the call on Sunday  in a sermon to climax the 2016 Tema Regional Conference of  the Noble Order. The sermon was on the theme; “The Lord, the merciful Father”.

He said it was the duty of every Marshallan to evangelise to others but this they can do effectively if they start within before reaching out to others in the society.

“Do not ignore evangelism within the fraternity. Let us all do this so that together, we can empower and encourage each other and help lift high the banner of God.” He said

He admonished the officers to respond to the duties of the Church and proclaim to the world that being a Knight or Lady was not about the uniform or the  insignia but rather one of unity.
The two day conference was held on the theme; “The Marshallan and the new evangelisation for the transmission of the faith”.

It brought together members or the Order from Teshie-Nungua, Sakumono, Tema and Ashiaman to deliberate on various topics.

The newly elected Tema Regional Grand Knight, Worthy Brother Edward Michael Musey  in an interview said over the two days period, members were encouraged  to do a lot of charity to support the poor and vulnerable.

He said a a key aspect of the tenets of the Order, they are going to embrace the call and embark on a serious of programmes targeted the poor within its catchment area including hospitals and orphanages.

W/Bro Musey said the society had initiated the process to raise GH c20,000 to help it acquire a piece of land for the construction of a Regional Secretariat and a Temple for the Order.

Newly elected executive committee members, led by Worthy Brother Edward Micheal Musey  and Respected Lady Sis Innocentia Kokoe Amegashitsi, the Regional Noble Lady, were later sworn into office by Sir Knight Very Rev. Father Joseph Ebow Baidoo, of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic church, Assorku Essaman in the Western Region and Assistant Supreme Chaplain of the Order.
