THREE prominent chiefs in the Ashanti Region have been initiated into Council three (3) of the Noble Order of the Knights of Marshall.
The three, Bro Baffour Owusu Asare Amankwatia IV, Bantamahene, Bro Nana Yaw Owusu Akwanuasa, Otumfuo Mpaboahene and Bro Nana Akwasi Prempeh, Manhyiahene, were also elevated to the rank of Honorary Past Grand Knights (PGKs) at the ceremony which was witnessed by the Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro Joseph Ekow Paintsil.
Christined the ‘Three Wisemen’, they were given special dispensation by the Supreme Council to be elevated to the ranks of PGK due to their age and positions as traditional rulers.
The elevation ceremony was performed by Sir Knight Bro. Sir Fosuaba Banahene Mensah as the Elevation Officer, Worthy Bro. Henry K. O. Antwi as the Elevation Secretary with Bro Dan Kwabla and Bro Rev Fr James Buor Mensah as Elevation Guard and Chaplain respectively.
The leader of the group, Bro Nana Akwasi Prempeh, thanked the leadership of the order for the honour them and pledged their support to the development of the noble order of the Knight of Marshall and that of the mother church.
“We promise to contribute our quota to the continuous development and sustenance of the Knight of Marshall, and if required of us, the Court,” he said.
He said, “for us, our initiation today to become members of the Knights of Marshall is a clarion call of service to the Catholic church, humanity and above all, our maker God”.
Notwithstanding their elevation, he said, ” we see ourselves as students who have to be submissive to be taught all the things that we need to know and practice what is required of us as high officers.”
Also in attendance at the special initiation cum elevation ceremony were Sir Knight Bro Prof Dr Dr George Wireko Brobbey, and Sir Knight Katinka Sir Dr Kwame Donkoh Fordjour.
The Supreme Knight, Sir Knight Paintsil, congratulated the group for
their decision to join the order and urged them to make time in spite of their busy schedules to attend meetings and offer their wise counsel to the Noble Order.
