JUNIOR MARSHALLANS STEAL SHOW AT REPUBLIC DAY MASS IN LONDON

Members of the Junior Council and Court in London were at the centre stage of a thanksgiving mass held by the Ghanaian community to mark this year’s Republic Day celebrations on July 12, 2015.
Organised by the Ghanaian Catholic Chaplaincy at the St George’s Cathedral, Westminster Bridge Road, London, various societies within the Catholic Church including the Knights and Ladies of Marshall were present.
However, in their resplendent uniforms, the Junior Marshallans took part in the Liturgy of the Word, Bidding Prayers and Offertory Procession as well as joined the Clergy for the entrance and recessional procession.
The occasion was also used to introduce the Junior Marshallans to the entire Catholic Community in the United Kingdom.
An appeal was made to parents to encourage their children to join the Marshallan fraternity.
The Congregation applauded the involvement of the juniors in the celebration and shook hands heartily with them.

The chaplain of the Ghanaian Catholic Community, Very Rev Fr. Joseph Akono concelebrated the mass with Rev Deacon Baffour-Awuah, also at the chaplaincy.
In attendance at the mass were the Regional Grant Knight, Worthy Bro. Dr James Amuah, the Regional Noble Lady, Respected Lady Sis. Veronica Serwah-Addo, senior officers as well as brothers and sisters of constituent Councils and Courts.

Homily
In a homily, the chaplain of the Ghanaian Catholic Community, Very Rev Fr. Joseph Akono, urged Ghanaians in the diaspora to remain united in order to undertake the evangelising Mission of the Church. He further admonished the Community to contribute their quota towards the socio-economic development of the country.

Impressive turn-out
At a reception after the Mass, members of the Ghanaian Community expressed delight at the impressive turn out of the Junior Marshallans. Other parents made enquiries on the possibility of their wards joining the Junior Order.

Consecration
The first Junior Council/Court for the London Region of the Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall was consecrated on May 23, 2015 in London, United Kingdom.
Twenty-seven (27) Junior Marshallans were initiated into the Junior Branch 82J, Christened Hail Holy Queen.
