Free health screening exercise for children

THE Noble Order of Knights and Ladies of Marshall of the Weija Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, last Saturday held a free health screening exercise for children.

The exercise, which included screening of the ear, nose and throat (ENT), attracted over 300 children mainly from Weija and its environs.

Need for good health

In an interview with the marshallan.org, the acting Grand Knight, Mr Paul Enninful, said the health screening formed part of the celebration of the group’s first anniversary.
He stated that children needed good health to learn effectively, adding that such periodic screening exercises saved children from chronic diseases.
“The health of children are very important and we must always take conscious efforts to ensure that our children are healthy and strong”, he said.

More programmes in future

The Noble Lady, Sister Cynthia Lassey Ibrahim gave the assurance that more programmes would be organised by the group to improve the lives of people in the immediate and surrounding communities of the church.
“In the future, we intend to have similar programmes that would help the less privileged in society and also to ensure that as many people as possible have a better life”, she said.
Some parents who spoke to the marshallan.org commended the Knights and Ladies of Marshall for the initiative and expressed the hope that more of such programmes would be organised in future.
