Catholics urged to continue to serve as true soldiers of Christ

Catholics have been urged to continue to serve as true soldiers of Christ so as to hasten the evangelization process.

They were also told to compliment this effort against the backdrop of mundane and ideological differences by exploring new ways of refreshing and consolidating their cherished faith as good Christians.
Those comments were made by the Supreme Knight of the Knight of Marshall, Sir Kt. Bro. Joseph Ekow Paintsil, in the message read on his behalf by Sir Kt. Bro. Samuel Barnes at a two-day 2014 Regional Conference of the Tema Regional Council and Court of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, a Catholic Friendly Society.
The two-day Conference under the theme: “LIVING OUR FAITH AS MARSHALLANS IN A CHALLENGING WORLD”, was attended by over 300 members drawn from component councils and courts in Tema, Teshie Nungua and Sakumono.
High profile personalities who attended the conference included, Sir Kt Bros. Albert Essien, Tony Baffour, Joseph Otoo, Wilfrid Andoh, Charles Brew-Hammond; Past Grand Lady MRL Sis. Victoria Yellu, MRLs Sis. Dr. Agatha Bonney, Josephine Ricther, who chaired the conference, and some newly elected Regional Grand Knights, W/B Peter Wireko and Kingsford Arthur.
The message by the Grand Lady, MRL Sis. Margaret Yirenkyi read by MRL Sis. Victoria Yellu spoke, among other things, of various challenges confronting the world such as parenting, lifestyle choices, illetracy which threaten the faith of Catholics and called on Marshallans to be steadfast in dealing with them in accordance with best known practical measures.
In a keynote address on the theme of the conference, Rev. Fr. Dennis Opoku, Assistant Parish Priest of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, urged Catholics to continue to make prayer the centre piece of their lives and urged them to stand firm and be resolute in their determination to fight the challenges confronting their faith. He called on Marshallans to set goals and strategies for the evangelization process so as to make the kingdom of God and the Church formidable.
At the Regional Council and Court meetings, new officers were elected and installed into office. Worthy Bro. Paul Kwame Agyiri of Council 37 took over the mantle from W/B Victor Adonu as the new Regional Grand Knight. The position of Deputy Regional Grand Knight went PGA Bro. Edward Mossey of Council 89.
The Regional Court has RL Sis. Maude Tamakloe of Court 59 as the Regional Noble Lady with Sis. Innocencia Amegashiti of Court 26 as her Deputy.
In their maiden addresses after their installation W/B Paul Agyiri and RL Sis. Maude Tamakloe, among other things, promised to improve the financial base of the Regional Council and Court and pledged to continue the various initiatives embarked upon by their predecessors.
At a thanksgiving service which coincided with the 25th Anniversary celebration of Very Rev. Fr. Isaac Emanuel Maungur, Parish Priest of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Tema. Rev. Fr. Marcino Zien of the Nation Council Secretariat urged Marshallans to continue to stick to the Cross and allow Christ to permeate in all aspects of their daily lives. He thanked Marshallans for their support for the Church and urged them to continue to support programmes for the formation of Priests.
