CAN WE APPEAR BETTER AT PUBLIC GATHERINGS

My dear Brothers and Sisters,

The appearance and comportment of Marshallans at Council and Court meetings is second to none. Can the same be said about our turn out at public gatherings? I am not quite sure.

I chose to use this medium to remind brothers and sisters of some guidelines that inform our outings. It is my expectation that these reminders will guide you in outings.

    1. Any public gathering of Marshallans come under the command of the host GK/NL or RGK/RNL. Under no circumstances shall any other brother/sister officer often higher than the rank to the commanding GK/RGK issue parallel our countermanding instructions. Grand Knight/Noble Ladies or their Regional counterparts are in administrative office and are accountable ultimately to the Supreme Knight or Grand Lady respectively. They must be allowed to exercise the authority conferred on them.
    2. Lateness MUST be avoided at all times. Marshallans are reminded to gather at a designated area detached from the public at the beginning and at the end of Mass. On each of these occasions, relevant announcements may be made by the leader for the day (GK/NL, or RGK/RNL as the case might be). At this stage, the GK/RGK will command Bros/Sis to robe (wear their Regalias or remove them). I remind you all of the solemnity at which these Regalias were presented to you at your Initiation/Installation. Let us always remember to pray the prescribed prayers before we wear our Regalias and when removing them. Wearing and removal of Regalias disrespectfully in your cars or while rushing into the chapel late does not put us in good stead in the eyes of on lookers.
    3. The composure of Marshallans anytime Regalias are worn is of prime importance. I entreat Brothers and Sisters when in Regalia to refrain from unnecessary chats and laughter which lowers the ethereal composure of the entire group. I remind you to make the effort to remain focused and composed at all times when in Regalia.
  1. Officers of the Noble Order are reminded that they are to be in white gloves at all public gatherings when in Full Regalia. Brother Officers with the prescribed bowler hats are encouraged to wear them. Guards and Sentries who are non-officers are also to be in gloves.

I take this opportunity to wish you all a successful and inspiring Regional Conference this year.
