Parish Pastoral Council members, my Brothers and Sisters in Christ of St Charles Lwanga Parish.

 Lwanga, Lwanga. ….repeat twice,.

Yesterday at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, we Marshallans of the Accra West Region had our 4th Regional Conference under the theme “Mercy, the heartbeat of the Gospel and the Marshallan”. The guest Speaker was Very Reverend Fr. Francis Adoboli, Vicar General of the Accra Archdiocese, fresh from celebrating his 25 anniversary of priestly ordination. We are here to give thanks for a successful conference and installation of officers for 2016-2018 and to pray the Lord’s mercy and blessings upon us all.

For the next two years the Accra West regional Council and Court will be led by the Regional Noble Lady RL Sis Doris Ama Bramson and myself Regional Grand Knight W/Bro Evaristus Kwame Kuatsinu.

The core areas of our planned interventions, which are informed by the 2014-2026 Strategic plan of the Noble Order include:

  • Deepening of the Spirituality of Members
  • Improving upon the Welfare/Social Interventions established within the Order for members, especially those related to life benefits.
  • Undertaking charitable works for the less privileged in our society under the Marshallan Relief and Development Services (MAREDES), a registered NGO.
  • Continuing the growth agenda. Rev Fr., Brothers and Sisters in Christ, the erstwhile Greater Accra Regional Council & Court was reorganised into the Accra West, Accra East and Tema Regional Councils & Courts in 2010. Since then the Accra West Regional Council & Court has grown rapidly from three to five Councils and five Courts.  Very soon we will be consecrating a Council and Court here in Abeka and Amanfrom to name a few.

Fellow Parishioners, the Noble Order is a purely Catholic friendly society that will be 90 years this November. It was formed to provide members the platform to defend, promote and live the Catholic faith and exemplify loyalty to the hierarchy of the Church guided by the spirit of Charity and Service to humanity.

Anyone here who is literate, a practicing Catholic or communicant with a temperate habit and between the ages of 18 and 60 years is invited to join the Adult Council and Court. The younger baptised ones between 7-18 years can also join the Junior Council and Court.

My brothers and Sisters, once more we are in an election year. Ghana needs to remain peaceful in the period before, during and after the elections.

  • Let us be Ambassadors of peace wherever we find ourselves, in our homes, our work places, in our social and religious groups.
  • Use temperate language in all your interactions guided by the spirit of truth and fairness.
  • Remember, there cannot be the development we all yearn for without peace.
  • Marshallans … Unity (twice). Indeed, we are noted for our Unity, Charity, Fraternity and Service. Extend these attributes to all Ghanaians.

Appreciation

Rev. Fr., PPC members, High Officers, Brothers and Sisters in Christ we are indeed grateful for the warm reception you have given us. As a token of our appreciation,

  • We present to the church a chalice, and a set of chasubles. May our offerings be acceptable onto the Lord.
  • We also present a set of educational materials to the Sunday school. Young Mary, the mother of Our Lord kept herself chaste and found favour with the Lord. May the youth of Ghana lead good lives and focus on their education.

Thank you and may God bless us all.
