A MINUTE FOR PEACE 2018

THE International Bureau of the International Council of Catholic Men (Unum Omnes) has requested all men and all women of goodwill to observe “A Minute for Peace” prayer on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 1.00 PM.

This is to coincide with the historical meeting between Pope Francis and the Presidents of Israel and Palestine, held in the Vatican.

Last year, a similar prayer and “A Minute for Peace” was observed.

This year, “We want to offer everyone the opportunity, to encourage continuous prayer and commitment for peace and mercy, with a special intention for refugees who suffer every day the consequences of violence,” it said.

The head of the West African Bureau, Sir Kt Bro Anthony C. Kemavor, disclosed this in an interview with marshallan.org. He expressed the hope that all Catholic men and by extension, all Catholic women would observe the minute’s prayer wherever they are at 1.00 PM on Friday, the 8th of June 2018.this Prayer for Peace.

Our Holy Father, Pope Francis reminds us always to pray for peace in the world as captured in these extracts below;

  • Crafting peace is a skilled work: it requires passion, patience, experience and tenacity. Blessed are those who sow peace by their daily actions, their attitudes and acts of kindness, of fraternity, of dialogue, of mercy…. (.Sarajevo, 6 June 2015)
  • Our task is that of praying for one another, imploring from God the gift of peace, encountering one another, engaging in dialogue and promoting harmony in the spirit of cooperation and friendship ( Cairo, 28 April 2017)
  • It is only through dialogue that one can design a shared future. It is through dialogue that we build peace, while we take care of everyone and establish dialogue with all. (Italy, CA 30 April 2017)

All Brothers and Sisters should take note and act accordingly.
